Hi, I am looking for a developer to help in a few areas. Would prefer those that have experience with developing for ZenCart. Details of each item are below:
1. Currently, our products can be sorted by the following fields:
Product Name, Product name -desc, Price - low to high, Price - high to low, ISBN, Date Added - New to Old, Date Added - Old to New
Those don't really help me except for price. What I need is for them to be sortable by "bestsellers" and "most viewed" so that people can see which books are doing well, which is all they really care about anyway.
Bestsellers and Most Viewed are already kept track of through ZenCart already, so all I think they need is for the functions that will actually link the data between tables and then run a query on the data based upon what is selected from a drop-down menu. I am not a programmer but it seems like it would be that simple to me.
2. The search box on our ZenCart store doesn't seem to function properly. It searches by keywords and phrases only and does not search strings (at least to my knowledge) or even give the option to search for ANY keyword, ALL keywords, EXACT phrase, or anything like that. I don't know if this is a setting that may be changed or what (through ZenCart's admin panel), but I am really having problems with customers searching for products that exist but aren't coming up. The store is in both english and spanish so I am sure there are issues there, but I want to also be able find items in spanish even when they don't use spanish characters as a part of the search, if that is possible.
3. Would also like to see about changing the advanced search page to include author searches and fields that are not in the main product database table. I have installed the Product Type Book contribution and it has a separate table that is not being searched with some valuable product information. That table in the DB needs to be included in any product search.
